Red Casket Tours the North County

The VOCO red casket ("R.I.P. Democracy" / "Here LIES McGuinty")is a familiar sight around Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls, although it still generates quite a reaction: People honk, wave, give us the "thumbs up" - and often ask if they can have their picture taken with it.

But in the north part of the County, many summer folk are not aware that VOCO's fight to restore democracy continues. These people voted to de-amalgamate the City, and their voices are being ignored by the Province.

So, on a hot July Friday, a crew of VOCO volunteers took the red casket on a tour of "The North County". We visited Norland, Coboconk, Kirkfield and Bolsover, handing out pamphlets, collecting signatures on the petition, and chatting with the people. Thanks to our northern neighbours for a friendly reception!.
